The birthday’s invite list will have friends, family and colleagues together who have not seen each other for years. As a result, there can often be small groups of people not knowing each other.
Because of this, as a roaming magician I will give everyone something to laugh and connect over. This means that chatting becomes easier, which in turn gives the atmosphere a bit more buzz.
What makes a great milestone magician?
I always arrive early, at least an hour, be ready to perform and communicate clearly. In other words, professionalism and preparation matter.
Big one for me is personality over gimmicks, I have worked in customer service, offices and construction. To clarify, this experience gives me the ability to interact with guests of all ages, interests and familiarity with magic.
I will read the room, choose the right moments, and adapt tricks to fit who I am with. That is to say, the performance can be adapted accordingly.
When to book: Usually 6 to 12 months, especially on weekends and popular months for weddings. In short, once your date is confirmed, locking me in sooner rather than later will ensure you have the best choice. A deposit secures the date.
What you can expect when you hire a close hand magician?
Mix and mingle as guests arrive, I will circulate through the room performing sleight of hand and mind reading for small groups. This will start the celebration, lift the energy without needing guests to stop what they are doing.
For lunch or dinner, I will perform before and after the meal, and in between courses.
Personalised and memorable magic: For milestone birthdays, it’s a nice touch when the entertainment feels personal. I can create tricks that tie into the birthday guest of honour’s life and interests, making those moments uniquely theirs.
